Smart City Planning in City of Samarinda

As a response to the “100 Smart City Initiative” lead by the Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Informatics, City of Samarinda started to formulate plans in creating their Smart City in 2016. The municipality incorporated the vision in their 5-year City Development Plan. The elaborated objectives and strategies were then documented into the yearly City Action Plan. The process involves not only the City’s Planning Agency but also other Government Agencies in the municipality to ensure that every agency achieve the same understanding, and thus create integration in the action and implementation of the policies and strategies across different city services.
