Platform for Advancing Urban Experimentation

To tackle the challenges cities are facing today, transformative action must be taken. Newton and Frantzeskaki (2021) suggest a new urban governance platform that could become a medium for experiments and decision making that could accelerate the transformative changes in cities.

To tackle the challenges cities are facing today, transformative action must be taken. Newton and Frantzeskaki (2021) suggest a new urban governance platform that could become a medium for experiments and decision making that could accelerate the transformative changes in cities. The platform called iHub offers a site for assembling expertise, enabling engagement and provide technology to model and visualise scenarios for improving the citizen quality of life. To ensure the state-of-the art urban governance, the platform is supported by four integrated layers, infrastructure layer, data layer, software layer and engagement layer. The platform is envisioned to reconstruct the disconnected, siloed and slow state of urban change in our cities today.
