Integrated Public Transportation System in Jakarta

The capital city of Jakarta rolled out a scheme that integrated the various transportation mode in Jakarta, called Jaklingko. This scheme is the government effort to create reliable, seamless and comfortable public transportation system that serves the greater Jakarta metropolitan by not only integrating the infrastructure but also ticketing and fare system. The integration includes transport mode such as the Bus Rapid Transit (more familiarly called Transjakarta), the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT Jakarta) and smaller transit mode called angkot. The improvement in the public transportation system goes further by revitalising the vehicle, terminals and connecting them through upgraded pedestrian and cycling network in the city. With this scheme, in 2021 Jakarta received the Sustainable Transportation Award or STA from the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP).
