Indonesia’s Innovative Government Award`

With 34 Province and 514 cities in Indonesia, the problem and priorities among the local governments varied significantly. With limited resource and capital, local governments are encouraged to be innovative in solving challenges and issues in their areas. Thus, the Research and Development Agency of Indonesia’s Ministry of Domestic Affair provide a platform that gives appreciation to those inventive local government through Innovative Government Award (IGA). The Ministry evaluates programs, system or technology applied in local government that has been running at least for two years and assess the programs’ effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability; as well as how impact and benefit the local area and the citizen. Through this award, the national government drives local government to be more attuned to the citizen needs through more creative approach, field observation and research and create more ground-breaking and inventive solution.
