By combining the city’s Geographical Information System (GIS) and an informatics system that they design called Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), the municipality successfully delivers better provision of the water needs to the City of Batam’s inhabitants. This system allows the municipality to control and detect problems real time. Pressing challenges that they faced previously such as leakage, high energy consumption and cost efficiency are slowly solved with this system inplace.
