Improving Coordination and Collaboration of Medan Smart City

In realising the Smart City, the challenge that the government of Medan City must solve is the lack of coordination between the service agencies and partners outside the local governments. Due to differing duties and priorities of the various agencies, there was a disintegration in realising the vision. Thus, City of Medan established and ad-hoc organisational structure that is responsible for the execution of the Smart City vision. The structure consists of relevant agencies and external stakeholder that are essential to the implementation of the vision. With this structure, the coordination and collaboration improved as the system and tasks division are made clear. Furthermore, the progress of Smart City could be managed and monitored better for continuous improvement.
