Essential Element to Impact Future Smart Public Transport

Despite the growing population, the resources of land and road infrastructure in the cities are finite and limited. Thus, the future of urban transport is public transport (PT) while discouraging the growth of private cars. There are several essential elements in the development of better Smart Public Transport that will have an important impact on the shaping of next generation, urban transportation systems. 

1. Intelligent technologies: Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication, Artificial Intelligence and Automation of Vehicle will significantly improve the PT system that provide better connectivity and offer wider mobility to the citizen. 
2. Social Networking: Social media allows communication of Local Governments, PT providers/operators and public users, which helps users to make informed choices for their travels. 
3. Economy: Future PT pays attention to the effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, pricing and equity of the mode of transportation that ensure affordability and convenience of the PT users.
4. Integration: Improving the connectivity of PT by providing seamless and direct transfer is critical for users. This can be achieved through the integration of not only the physical connection between modes of transport but also the integration information integration, and fare and ticketing integration.
