With the upgrade of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) by the Police Department in Jakarta in their CCTV System, the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) was launched simultaneously. The smart system was installed to detect traffic offense by motorised vehicle using the road. Any traffic violation by car or motorcycle driver are tracked and detected by the Regional Traffic Management Centre (RTMC) where then traffic tickets will be sent to offender via email or mail. Currently, the system only detects vehicle registered in Jakarta, the area of enforcement will continually be expanded and vehicle data from other municipalities could be integrated.
