Digital Twin of SMart City
With the development of technology that are implemented in smart cities, it is now possible to create a digital twin for cities that could immensely help the urban planning and management process. White et al. (2021) defined digital twin as a digital representation of a physical condition, process, system or device of a place or cities. By using the advance Building Information Model (BIM) and big data generated from the city’s IoT sensors, we can create a 3D model that could be opened up not only for modelling but a virtual participation medium for the citizen.
Through digital twin, various city initiatives, policies or redesigning can be tested before they are implemented into the real world. Various scenarios can be tested that would allow decision maker and the citizen to work together to achieve better urban development, such as flooding, crowd management, mobility etc.
