Building Adaptive Urban Governance System
Changing demographic, rapid technological advancement and climate crises are some of the pressing issues that cities have to accommodate in an unprecedented pace. Moreover, as we are struggling to work through the pandemic, it has become clearer that we need and urban governance systems that are adaptive to ever changing conditions and uncertainties. One of the ways we can create the urban governance system that is more adaptive is by creating an environment that support the innovation in our cities institution. This could include things such as adjustment to the policy, regulation, organisational changes, and coordination arrangement (Paterson and Huitema, 2019). Creating amore innovative institution would allow a space for flexibility for immediate changes and accelerate actions in handling urban crises.
