Benefit of Smart City Hybrid Management Model
Different from traditional business model, hybrid management model aims to respond to multiple mission. Smart city initiatives with hybrid management serve the purpose of not only generating profit, but also communicating with the citizens as well as managing multiple projects at once. In addition, the hybridity also extends to the collaboration of comprehensive stakeholders with often conflicting concepts and practice to achieve the smart city goals, which are usually very complex. Hybrid management address some factors that often limit the development of smart city such as lack of leadership, legacy system and understanding of technology in a municipality.
Done right, this model has led to numerous changes to the organisation that improved the quality of life of its citizens. It is also having economic benefit, with a case study that shows increase efficiency of public service use and saves time for the citizens. Likewise, the implementation of more collaborative management created new open access platforms and greater exchange of communication further improve liveability of the city.
