Accelerating Policy Transfer for Smart City Development
Previous article has explained Li et al. (2022) findings on the six factors that supports the policy transfer between smart cities. Further, this study recommends three action points that local governments can take to accelerate the process of policy transfer for the development of local smart cities.
- Formalise clear collaborative mechanism and joint partnerships
To reinforce cities enthusiasm for collaboration in smart city development, a formal collaboration and partnership platform can ensure the sustainability of the knowledge transfer and learning.
- Set up regional or international level of smart city platform
Through such networks and platforms, capacity building workshops can be organized, strategic partnerships can be formed, and the transfer of technologies and governance lessons across cities can be accelerated.
- Build a repository of smart city policy development case study
Adopting a knowledge based smart city development can foster the creation of knowledge an innovation, thus a smart city repository can be the medium that gathers the case studies, information on the comparisons and explanation of success and failure other urban planning and governance reference for the smart city
