Rifda conducted independent and collaborative research on urban infrastructure development and climate resilience, focusing on urban heat mitigation in Jakarta, Indonesia. Leading climate risk assessments, she identified vulnerabilities and recommended adaptation measures to address thermal and environmental justice. Rifda coordinated with research teams in Hyderabad (India), Karachi (Pakistan), Yaoundé (Cameroon), and Jakarta, engaging stakeholders at local, provincial, and national levels to integrate climate resilience into policy and planning. She collaborated with community groups, NGOs, and the private sector, while overseeing ethical clearance for research on urban heat and human physiology. Rifda also contributed to published journal articles as both main author and co-author on these topics.
